Leicester City manager Sven Goran Eriksson admitted that Swansea City ‘thoroughly deserved the win’ as they beat his side 2-0 yesterday at the Liberty Stadium.

Marvin Emnes came on in the second half and within 5 minutes he put us in front. He then turned from goal scorer to goal provider as he assisted Scott Sinclair’s injury-time strike.

Eriksson was impressed by the Swans’ performance and said:

‘It wasn’t a good afternoon for us – it was a step back from Tuesday night when we beat Leeds. We have to work hard and get better because if we keep on losing we can forget about the play-offs or promotion.

‘We will start work tomorrow for the Carling Cup game on Tuesday and then we have Preston at home on Saturday, which is a big game for us.

‘We created chances and maybe we should have scored, but their keeper made a few fantastic saves. But when you look at the game, Swansea were the better team and thoroughly deserved to win.

‘They were absolutely the better team, especially in the first half and parts of the second. We came back hard in the second half to try to get a draw.

‘They kept the ball better than we did in the first half and we had to chase it all the time. When we got it we lost it very quickly. They were very aggressive when they lost the ball – it was very difficult for us.’
