David Edgar has returned to Burnley after being denied international clearance to join Swansea City on loan until the end of the season.
|“Frustrating and so unnecessary for this deal to have fallen through on a technicality which was not our fault in the first place.”|

The defender came back to the Liberty Stadium on transfer deadline day last month for his second loan spell with us, only to return to Turf Moor after FIFA’s involvement in the move – or lack of it.
According to Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins, the paperwork from both clubs didn’t match up and there was a decimal point missing from the information that was given.
Rodgers brought Edgar to the club for some extra defensive cover but he’ll be without it now for the remaining 15 games. He told the Official Site:
‘I feel for the player,’
‘Because every day he was here you could see he was getting more disappointed because he couldn’t play.
‘But we’ve got to look after our group, and at least David will get a chance to play some games back at Burnley.’
