Nathan Dyer says players would be ‘silly’ to leave Swansea City in January, after we moved up to second place after yesterday’s 3-0 home win against Crystal Palace.

There’s speculation linking Darren Pratley with a move as he has refused to sign a new contract before his current one expires in June.

There’s also talk that contract talks with Ashley Williams have broken down, but Dyer told BBC Sport that players would be silly to leave the club.

‘Anybody would be silly to move in the January transfer window,’

‘With the position we’re in at the the moment.’

Dyer also believes that we won’t face the problem of losing key first team players:

‘It don’t feel it is a problem for us,’

‘And unless they really need players, most managers won’t buy until the summer.

‘We have a good squad here and even if some players did decide to leave in the January window, which I very much doubt, we have a good enough squad to keep pushing.’

‘I felt we were promotion contenders at the start of the season but people didn’t see us as a threat,’

‘But they are starting to see us as contenders. We must keep performing and I’m sure we’ll get the results.’
