New loan signing Nathan Dyer impressed fans yesterday after making his full debut in the 2-0 home win against Reading.
With Leon Britton serving a one-match ban, the Southampton winger slotted in on the right wing, which meant Gomez returned to the centre.
|“Couldn’t be more delighted with his debut. He slotted straight in to our style of play.”|
His pace and skill caused Coppell’s side problems throughout the game and he received a standing ovation when he was substituted with 8 minutes remaining.
While he was man of the match in my view, he missed out on the official award as 18 year-old Joe Allen picked up the accolade.
The duo linked up brilliantly at times, as Allen made some superb passes out wide to Dyer and he continues to play like he did yesterday it won’t be too long before he scores his first goal for the club.
Allen is surely going to be a star for us in the future, he showed superb confidence and has adapted to this level of football instantly. He’s certainly filled Bodde’s boots, spraying the ball to the wingers and shows no fear or relunctancy to get stuck in to win us possession.
Swansea City now turn their attentions to the FA Cup 4th round next weekend, as they travel to Fratton Park to take on Tony Adams’ Portsmouth side.
Pompey beat Bristol City 2-1 to progress through while the Swans beat Histon by the same score.
