Darryl Duffy was delighted to finally get his first goal of the season last night.

The former Hull City striker started our comeback on 81 minutes before Anderson grabbed the winner 2 minutes later.

Duffy would be the first to admit it wasn’t one of his best goals to remember, as he took advantage of the goalkeeper spilling a long range shot and poked the ball home, but they all count and he’s now off and running.

It’s been a stressful start to the season for Duffy after failing to score in his opening 5 league games. So different from his loan spell when he netted 5 times in 10 games.

Duffy said:

‘I’m absolutely delighted to get off the mark,”

‘It didn’t worry me too much that I was still to score because I’m normally a slow starter, but it’s still a relief.

‘I thought we showed fantastic character and worked our socks off; getting our rewards in the end.

‘Hopefully this will see us turn the corner and we can push on from here.”

The majority of fans have been confident that once he’d score his first many more would follow and I think they’re right.
