Swansea City attacker Stephen Dobbie is again being linked again with a loan move to a Championship club.

Both Blackpool and Middlesbrough are being reported this week as being interested in taking the Scotsman on loan.

Ian Holloway enjoyed Dobbie’s involvement during their Championship play-off win two seasons ago, while Tony Mowbray is also apparently keen to bring him to boost his side’s promotion hopes.

Dobbie played a big role in Swansea City’s play-off success last season – particularly towards the end of the year – scoring in the last two games to help us reach the top flight.

However, Dobbie has struggled to earn himself a regular place in the team – making just a handful of League appearances since August 2011.

The striker, who now plays in a more attacking midfield role, has shown difficultly in maintaining possession. Considering the main part of our game is keeping the ball, Rodgers doesn’t seem too interested in fielding a player who seems too slow when he has the ball at his feet.

It’s a shame because Dobbie linked up brilliantly with the lone striker last season – playing ‘in the hole’, but unfortunately he hasn’t been anywhere near as effective this year.

A loan move until May is probably the best move all round – particularly as Rodgers signed another two attacking midfielders in January.
