New signing Stephen Dobbie says he hopes to be working under boss Roberto Martinez next season.

The Swansea City manager is a potential target for Wigan, Real Sociedad and Celtic – who have made an official approach to speak to Martinez as they look for Gordon Strachan’s successor.

The Spaniard has had a superb 2 seasons as boss at the Liberty Stadium and has had a big influence on his signings. Nathan Dyer’s transfer is thought to be on hold until he knows he’ll be playing under Martinez next year, while the likes of Angel Rangel, Guillem Bauza and Andrea Orlandi may decide to move on if Roberto does the same.

Dobbie who has completed his free transfer from Queen of the South, spoke highly of Martinez when he put pen to paper and he repeated those views:

‘That’s just football, obviously I hope he stays because he was the one, with his backroom staff, that signed me.

With how well he has done, if a big move comes along, you can’t deny him that so you just have to get on with it as a player.

‘I was very impressed with the way he speaks, the way he wants his team to play and the way he wants to run the club so hopefully he stays.

He has done really well for Swansea and hopefully that can continue from my point of view.’

We should all know by Wednesday or Thursday on what Martinez decides to do as that’s when he returns from Ibiza to have talks with chairman Huw Jenkins.

Do you think Martinez will leave the Swans this Summer?
