Do We Need a New Left Back?

Looking at our current poll votes so far, it seems most of our readers at least are happy for our current left back due to compete for a first team place.

Following the links with the likes of Lazaar and van der Wiel, it looks like the Swans could be in the market for a full back or two this Summer, so we wanted to know your thoughts on the left back situation.

Welsh international, Neil Taylor – who will be in Euro 2016 action for Wales on Saturday against Slovakia received his fair share of criticism from Swansea fans last season for his poor and limited attacking ability. Stephen Kingsley didn’t waste him in giving Francesco Guidolin plenty to think about next season as he considers his best options in that position.

The Sun also reported that the Swans could be prepared to sell Neil Taylor. They believe that we’re willing to look elsewhere to provide Stephen Kingsley with competition for the left back spot.

So the poll results, Kingsley as first choice with Taylor as back up is the clear favoured choice with 56%, followed by the reversal of that, with Taylor keeping his first team place (19%). Only 10% would like to see Kingsley as first choice with a new signing as backup – instead of Taylor. 8% want to see a new signing as first choice, with Kingsley staying as an alternative option.

You can still vote in the poll on the right side of the website.

What’s your thoughts on the left back spot? Is Kingsley ready to take over as our new first choice left back? Should Taylor keep his place? Let us know your thoughts below in the comments…
