Roberto Di Matteo is expecting a good game tonight when his side West Brom side host Swansea City at the Hawthorns.

The former Chelsea player has guided the Baggies to the top of the Championship table and Mark Gower and Swans boss Paulo Sousa say it’s our toughest test of the season tonight.

West Brom went to Middlesbrough (who beat us 3-0) and beat Gareth Southgate’s side 5-0 so the Swansea City team knows they’re going to have to perform at their very best to get at least a point this evening.

Di Matteo said:

‘They are a very good football team

‘They are similar to Reading but with more quality, they’ve hit good form lately.

‘There’s a few of their players I quite like so it should be a good game.’

Craig Beattie, who faces his former club tonight will be hoping he’ll keep his place in the starting line-up after scoring his first goal for the Swans on Saturday at Ipswich Town.

Di Matteo added:

‘He was a good player at training because he gave 100 per cent but he was down the pecking order here and wanted regular football.

‘He will be trying to prove a point.

‘We feel every team will want to beat us, not just us, but also Newcastle and Middlesbrough because we are the three teams that came down from the Premier League.

‘Teams will always raise their game against us and we’ve had to deal with that from day one.

‘I’m quite happy to lead from the front.

‘I’d rather be there than chasing.’
