World Cup winner and former Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly says a move to managing Swansea City would be too early for him yet.

The Frenchman is currently working on gaining his UEFA coaching badges in Wales, and he admits he’s still a graduate as he turns down an approach from Swansea City.

The 43 year-old revealed to Le 10 Sport that he ‘will not be the next Swansea City coach’.

He added: ‘I was approached, but it is not the right time.’

Everything seemed fine, but it was too early.’

Last year, there were reports that Desailly has ambitions of becoming the next Ghana coach after he has completed his coaching courses.

Wigan Athletic assistant manager Graeme Jones has also turned down the opportunity to replace Brendan Rodgers at the Liberty Stadium.

The Swans are now focusing on their main target Michael Laudrup as talks have apparently begun with the Dane.
