Dorus De Vries wins the Vital Swansea Man of the Match for Saturday’s match vs Leicester City.

The Dutch goalkeeper received a massive 81% of the vote, with Nathan Dyer coming 2nd with 11%. Monk and Williams had 3% and Rangel and Allen had 1%.

It was a solid display from our number 1 shot stopper despite a shambolic defensive display in front of him.

It looks like he has done a lot of useful work with new goalkeeping coach Adrian Tucker. He caught a lot of crosses with confidence, usually he punches them away, and he also made an excellent save to deny Steve Howard from the penalty spot.

De Vries also picked up the highest score in our Player Ratings feature here

In our new poll, we’d like to know whether you think the Swans can bounce back from our opening day defeat with a home win on Saturday against Middlesbrough.

Vote now on the right hand side.

“Replacements for Scotland (who was never fully appreciated by many) and Gomez will be hard to find at the fees that our board will want to pay. Trimming the squad will help somewhat with wages but if Paulo is keen to keep the youngsters then the cull of fringe players will have to start soon.”
