Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas says Shakhtar Donetsk have made a ‘fantastic offer’ for their striker Gomis that they ‘could agree’.

Swansea City have been targeting the forward throughout the Summer, but despite the interest from the Ukrainian club, Gomis himself says he’ll decide where he’ll play his football next season.

The 27 year-old will surely have one eye on aiming to get into the French squad ahead of next year’s World Cup in Brazil, and where better to show off his talents than in one of the best club Leagues in the world – the Premiership.

He fired in 20 goals in 40 games last term, but Lyon are looking to sell him to get some much needed funds in order to ease their financial struggles.

Despite Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas saying this:

‘We have received an offer from Shakhtar Donetsk. It is a fantastic offer and we could agree with them.’

Gomis insists he’ll have the last say in where he goes, as it’s clear Lyon have decided to offload him:

‘I will choose where I play next season.

‘It sounds like Lyon have already made their choice, but I haven’t.’

It’s thought that Swansea City are waiting on Lyon and Gomis before making a fresh bid for Standard Liege striker Michy Batshuayi, after having a £2.57m bid rejected for the 19 year-old.
