Communications Direct are the latest company to be in the running for the naming rights of the new stadium.

The mobile phone company says they have put in the biggest cash offer and are in advanced talks to become the stadium’s sponsor.

Last week, Libery properties was strongly linked with the new stadium name.

Marc Winchester, joint managing director of Communications Direct said: ‘We were approached some weeks ago on behalf of the board of the soccer and rugby stadium.

‘As an organisation whose priority is to put a substantial amount back into a community that serves us so well, we have been delighted to put together an extremely attractive financial offer with a view to becoming the stadium’s sponsor.

‘We believe our offer is considerably higher than anything else on the table, although we will respect any decision the stadium board arrives at, in respect of any other sponsorship proposals that it may currently be discussing.’

Other companies who are hoping to clinch the deal include Air Wales and FRF Motors.
