Nigel Clough criticised many aspects of his side’s performance after losing 1-0 against Swansea City tonight.

Swansea City had nearly 70% of the possession but it took us until the final 10 minutes to break the deadlock, as Fede Bessone fired home the vital goal.

It could have been a much higher score, as Beattie and Pratley were also denied by excellent saves from the visiting goalkeeper.

Clough said:

‘We defended reasonably well for 80 minutes, but we are not quite in the mentality to see it through.

‘We were not good enough going forward and gave the ball away far, far too many times. We couldn’t put two passes together all evening.

‘We have to take some of our home form and home play into the away games. Confidence is a big factor.’
