Swansea City head coach Paul Clement admits that he’s not sure that Chelsea defender John Terry is a realistic transfer target.
In an interview with SoccerAM’s ‘Tubes’, Clement admits that while he will pursue him in the Summer and have a discussion, he’s not convinced that it’s a transfer we’d be able to pull off:
‘First of all, I like John a lot. He’s had a magnificent career at Chelsea and I know him personally. I’ve spent time with him away from the pitch, playing regular golf together. Ashley Cole was the other one we used to play with.’
‘I would like to have that opportunity [to speak to him about moving to Swansea]. I’m not sure it’s realistic to be honest.’
I’d have to agree with Clement on this one. I’d be very surprised if we managed to attract him to play a season next year at the Liberty.
I don’t think he’s definitely decided on what he’s going to do after Chelsea, he might decide to retire and focus on coaching, as it’s been reported that he’s very keen to take that up after his playing career is over.
