Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed that a loan move for Josh McEachran is ‘almost done’.

The Portuguese didn’t mention to the Telegraph which club he was joining, but says he’s close to joining a fellow Premier League club on loan.

While Aston Villa and Bolton Wanderers have been linked with a move for the young midfielder, Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers seems confident that he’ll get his man this week.

Villas-Boas said:

“The only one we have outlined to loan is Josh McEachran and a deal is almost done for him. So there is no solution at the moment.”

18 year-old McEachran has been tipped for big things for the future, and Chelsea fans see him as playing a big part at Stamford Bridge when the management team there finally feel that he is ready for first team football.

Brendan Rodgers meanwhile has no problem with giving youngsters a chance, having signed 19 year-olds Darnel Situ and Rory Donnelly this month. While they may have little involvement this season, McEachran is likely to feature more often, having worked with Rodgers at Chelsea when he was Youth Team manager.

Hopefully Swansea City will soon announce their fourth January signing as the loan arrival of Josh McEachran, as he’s a massive talent that can offer us another attacking dimension in midfield.
