Swansea City bounced back from the 4-0 loss to Espanyol with a comfortable 2-0 win over CF Peralada.

It would be the Swans who would get the first chance of to open the scoring after a Shaun McDonald strike nearly broke the deadlock only to be thwarted by the keeper. After some industrious play Thomas Butler breached the Peralada goal with 15 minutes on the clock. Taking advantage of a quickly taken free by Leon Britton the diminutive midfielder picked out Shaun McDonald who found the Irishman. Butler then coolly dispatched the ball into the corner of the Peralada goal.Midfield maestro Ferrie Bodde had the chance to send Swansea into a 2-0 lead but the former Den Haag man dragged his shot well wide.

After the interval it did not take Swansea too long to trouble the hosts goal with new boy Mark Gower hitting the bar two minutes into the second half. An offside decision cost the Liberty Stadium outfit a 2-0 lead after Owain Tudur Jones’s goal was chalked off. Not pondering on missed chances Guillem Bauza nearly sent Swansea into a 2-0 lead but fired wide.

Bauza had another chance moments later after rounding the keeper but the Spaniard was adjudged to have been fouled and a free kick was awarded. In the resulting free kick Andrea Orlandi could only watch as his shot curled past the post.

Kristian O’Leary had the chance to double Swansea’s lead after picking up the ball in the box but blazed his effort over the bar and the chance went. Frustration mounted when Albert Serran’s headed goal was again ruled out for offside.

Bauza’s persistance finaly paid of 8 minutes from time after linking up well with Orlandi to fire into the Peralada goal.
