Leon Britton believes that both Swansea and Cardiff can push for the play – offs this season after playing out an entertaining 2-2 draw on Sunday.

Britton, who was sent off in the game for two yellow cards, thinks both sides have the quality to make a challenge for the top six.

The former West Ham man told BBC Sport:

‘Cardiff have got good players, they’ll be there or thereabouts come the end of the season.’

‘I think we can do that as well. Fingers crossed, if we keep up our high standards, we can be there.’

The 26 year old passed a late fitness test to play in the game, and thinks it fully lived up to expectations.

‘I’ve heard so much about them since I’ve been here and the two games we have played against them this season have been unbelievable, with great atmospheres.’

‘This game had everything [you could want] in a derby match, sendings-off, four goals, a penalty. What else can you ask for?’

‘Personally we could have asked for a win, but the fans have watched a good game of football.’

Britton’s ban will see him miss this Saturday’s game against Bristol City.
