Leon Britton was back in a Swansea City shirt on Saturday and the midfielder thanked the fans for their support at Barnsley.
Britton said it felt ‘great’ to be back with the Swans and said:
‘It’s great to be a part of the club again,’
‘I’ve settled in very quickly and there are only a few new faces from the time I’d left.
‘Of course, I had to get up and sing in front of the squad and staff which can be nerve- wracking for some guys ? but this is the third time I’ve done it here.
‘I sang ‘It Must Be Love’ by Madness. I was after Luke Moore ? I can’t remember what he sang, it wasn’t brilliant ? but I picked up the standard after him. I think I did quite well.’
He also appreciated the reception he received from the Swansea fans at Oakwell:
‘It’s hard to gauge what the reception will be like, but the fans were excellent to me and I thank them for that,’
‘The reception was brilliant from the fans ? they were signing my name all afternoon and that was a great moment for me.
‘It was nice to get on for 15 minutes. The first touch is always a nerve-wracking feeling, but it went well.
‘I’m just delighted to be back out there in a Swansea shirt.
‘The challenge for me now is to try to work myself into the team again. There is a lot of quality in that position, so it’s going to be a difficult job for me.’
