Fabio Borini is expected to be available for tomorrow’s Play-Off Semi-Final second leg at home to Nottingham Forest

On loan Chelsea striker Fabio Borini is expected to be available for tomorrow’s Play-Off Semi-Final second leg at home against Nottingham Forest.

The young Italian suffered what appeared to be a hamstring injury in the first leg on Thursday night, and he was taken off during the second half as a precaution.

It looked like the injury would mean he’d miss tomorrow’s match, but manager Brendan Rodgers expected him to be in training today and be fit to play:

‘Fabio is fine,”

‘He’s had a scan and there is slight bruising around the hamstring, but it shouldn’t be a problem and he’ll be back in training on Sunday.

‘It’s the first real injury he’s had. He felt something around his hamstring, but he’s had some treatment over the last few days and it has responded well.

‘He feels good. He’s a very good pro for a young man and takes care of himself well.

‘It would have been a big loss if he’d been ruled out, but I thought Luke Moore did really well on Thursday and I have seen him improve every day. We’ve also got other good players standing by.

‘Fabio’s been magnificent since he’s been here, however, and made a massive impact. All the lads have taken to him.”
