Defenders Federico Bessone and Albert Serran are expected to complete their move from Espanyol within the next 24-48 hours.

Espanyol confirmed the transfer yesterday of the duo and it is fully expected after undergoing medicals at the club will complete their transfers to the Liberty Stadium in the very near future. It has cost £70,000 to secure the services of the highly rated Serran from los Periquitos despite reports suggesting Tintín Márquez had released him from his contract at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.Reports also had suggested that there was a buy back clause on the 24 year old but this has been dismissed by the club out of hand.

Getting around complex work permit laws the club will have no hurdles in signing Argentinian born defender Federico Bessone as the Cordoba born player has an Italian passport which under European Union laws on freedom of workers within the Union does not require the player to secure a permit to work with the home office. The 24 year old last season plyed his trade for Gimnàstic de Tarragona who play in segunda B.

Starting his career with Barcelona in their youth ranks the defender moved up the ranks and broke into the Barcelona C before joining Espanyol in 2005.

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has also revelled that there will be more new signings arriving in the coming weeks.

Jenkins Told The SWEP:

‘We have tracked them for some time and we feel we have attracted two quality players by not breaking the bank.A lot of hard work has gone into this and we are eagerly waiting to see how they adapt to the squad. There will be more,we are confident that we will start the new season off with a stronger squad than what we had at the end of last season.’
