Guillem Bauza will be sidelined for up to three weeks after picking up a groin strain in the 1-0 Johnstones Paint Trophy Southern Section regional final on Tuesday.
The Spaniard had limped off and headed straight down the tunnel with 68 minutes . Highly influential in recent games the striker has proved a hit with the Liberty Stadium faithful after his move from Espanyol B in the summer. With 6 goals to his name so far this season the striker will be looking to bounce back as the push for promotion continues.
It leaves Jason Scotland heading the Swansea attack against Luton tomorrow evening with Manchester United loanee Fabien Brandy on the bench.
Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez has bemoaned the fixture congestion for Bauza’s injury and has also blamed fatigue for playing its part in the clubs latest injury setback.
He Told the Evening Post:
|“MK Dons made it four games in 11 days for us and I think Bussy’s injury is a result of that busy period.Fatigue is a huge thing in football and we keep asking the players for monumental efforts.”|
‘I’m not happy at all with any soft tissue injury, but fatigue is our worst enemy when there are so many games to play.”
Swansea City will face relegation candidates Luton Town tomorrow evening, supporters are urged to get their tickets early to avoid lengthy delays at the ticket office.
