Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry said it was a ‘massive’ three points for them as Carlos Tevez’s goal gave them all three points at the Etihad Stadium this evening.

The Swans battled well throughout the game – particularly in the first half that saw Michu miss a couple of great chances, while the visitors looked poor and were booed off by their own fans at half time.

Barry said the points were much needed after a poor midweek defeat against Ajax in the Champions League:

‘It was a massive three points. Three games in seven days is always tough,’

‘It wasn’t a great performance but the manager said at half-time to stay calm and we’d get a goal.

‘Carlos came up with the goods.’

Barry also praised Swansea and their game plan:

‘To be fair to them, their game plan was good,’

‘They sat deep and made it hard for us to get the ball to our forwards.’
