The Andre Ayew to Swansea City story is gaining some momentum now as there are reports saying that the winger is currently in the city discussing personal terms ahead of a medical.
The story was first emerged via a tweet on Harry Redknapp’s recently setup twitter account. You can read our article about it here. A simple tweet soon spread like wildfire, and a number of nationwide and local media stories published stories linking Ayew with a switch to the Swans.
But it looks like Harry Redknapp might be right, is he taking a change of career path as now a ‘in-the-know’ twitter informer? Creating headlines himself via twitter?! Possibly.
The Sun ‘exclusively’ report that Ayew is set to agree terms with the Swans, but their claims of those terms being £5m a year seem unrealistic as that would equate to £96,000 a week. That’s simply money that Swansea City don’t pay players! He’s a free agent so they can afford higher wages, but that figure still seems far too high.
TalkSport, never a reliable source of football news, are reporting that Ayew will snub Swansea, Spurs, West Ham and Newcastle United and opt to join Italian side Roma instead.
Hopefully news of his signing and a photo of him holding up a scalf inside the Liberty Stadium will appear on the official site within the next couple of days, as Ayew would be an excellent and versatile signing that would boost Garry Monk’s winger and forward options for next season.
