Yeovil Town have rejected Swansea’s bid for defender Kevin Amankwaah.

However news just in is that the player has decided that he doesn’t want to extend his contract with the Glovers so a move for Amankwaah is now looking far more likely.

Yeovil chairman John Fry said: “Yes the club has received an offer for Amankwaah but we do not want to sell our best players below what we feel is their true value.

“We have been in negotiation with Kevin and his agent and offered him an attractive new contract.

“We are bitterly disappointed that Kevin unfortunately has decided that he doesn’t want to extend his contract with the club, so we must now look at the situation carefully.”

Swansea could find themselves in a similar situation as regards to Andy Robinson as he is still yet to come to an agreement over a new contract with the Swans.

Like Amankwaah, he also has a 1 year left on his current deal. If contract negotiations fall through then we could risk losing him for free at the end of the season.
