Striker Adebayo Akinfenwa insists that he will not going anywhere in the January transfer window.

The Swansea striker revealed he nearly joined Gillingham in August as rumours were flying around at the time that he was on his way.

It’s been a dissapointing start for ‘Bayo’ this season, he’s found first team chances limited with Fallon and Trundle ahead in the pecking order.

The Rotherham game last Saturday must have given him some hope after coming on as a super sub to equalise in the last minute of the game.

Fans were calling for his introduction throughout the second half and they finally got their wish when he came on with just 11 minutes to play.

Akinfenwa commented on that and said: ‘I’ve got so much love for the fans because they have love for me, but then I think of the players who are on the pitch and know they just want encouragement. We are all chasing the same goal after all.’

He also added: ‘But he (Jackett) does speak to me every day and I don’t feel isolated. He tells me that when I’m fit I’m a good player.’

Jackett has also told the former Torquay forward that he values the player and hopes that he’ll be staying.

He said: I’ve only got three centre-forwards and I’ll be looking to add to that in January, not take away. I would certainly hope he’ll be staying.’
