Paulo Sousa hinted that there’s a lack of money available to strengthen the squad in the January transfer window.

The Swansea City boss said that after watching his side struggle to score in yesterday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest.

The 39 year-old said that he’ll have to solve our goalscoring problems with the players available, rather than to strengthen in the New Year.

The Swans were on top for most of the game yesterday but their finishing yet again let them down, and poor defending gave the visitors the opportunity to take all 3 points.

Sousa said:

“It is frustrating when we do not score when we are on top, especially against teams when there is not a lot between us in the table.”

“When it is not easy but you are in control and have good opportunities to score and you don`t, it makes the difference.

“But we have the players to do it. We haven`t scored many goals but we have the players.

“Yes, in January I would like to change things – but perhaps I should ask the Nottingham chairman to give us a little money to buy some players.

“We have to know our reality – we can`t dream too much. To buy you need money.”
