Roberto Martinez thinks they’ve made it harder for themselves after Saturday’s 5-0 win sent out a message to the rest of the teams in League One.

Teams raise their games against the top sides and go out to make it extremely difficult to play. We’ve seen that plenty of times at home this season where the opposition have played and defended for a point.

Martinez said:

‘When you send that kind of message out in League One, I think you have to expect even harder tests at the Liberty Stadium,’

‘Teams are going to come here prepared and we need to be ready for that.’

‘You don’t go the league leaders’ ground and score five goals for nothing.

‘You need to have talent and football ability and we have got that.

‘Now we need to carry on having belief and support because we know there will be some bad times ahead.

‘It’s about how we react when they come. We need to keep getting together as a club because that’s what will give us a good chance of being successful this season. When teams come here and are prepared for us, there can be no place for anxiety or disappointment.

‘There is a place for positive football, for being excited and for making sure we use the full 90 minutes to break teams down.’

The Swans will be hoping for more success on their travels as the visit strugglers Bournemouth on Sunday.
