Vital Swansea were informed a few days ago that Peterborough have come in with a bid for Leon Knight, with £200,000 being mentioned.

We cannot confirm this is as being 100% the correct value of the undisclosed bid but it has been agreed between the two clubs.

Gillingham and Northampton are other clubs supposedly making enquiries and Peterborough’s Director of Football Barry Fry said: ‘I can confirm that I have had several discussions with Kenny Jackett at Swansea City and we have agreed a fee. I have spoken to Leon’s agent, but he needs more time to consider our offer.

‘Leon was transfer-listed a few weeks ago and Keith Alexander immediately identified him as a player that he can build a team around. He believes Leon can become an influential player as we attempt to gain promotion. Leon’s goal-scoring record is fantastic,’

Hopefully we can provide more details on the bid soon.

Jackett also mentioned that he wouldn’t be bringing in an immediate replacement and sees young Chris Jones as his 4th choice striker. He added: ‘I see Chris Jones as my fourth striker alongside Bayo Akinfenwa, Rory Fallon and Lee Trundle,’

‘If Leon does go and at any stage we needed another one because of form or fitness, we would bring someone in then.’
