Swansea City are expected to make two signings today but it is thought that one of them won’t include a replacement for striker Oli McBurnie who is set to join Sheffield United for an initial £17m.

Chelsea’s Kasey Palmer, another target in recent weeks is expected to join fellow Championship side Bristol City.

The Swans have had a fee of around £600,000 agreed for winger Kristoffer Peterson who plays for Heracles Almelo in Holland’s top division.

Swans supporters will also be disappointed and frustrated to learn that next to nothing of that £17m, which could rise to £20m, will be re-invested back into improving the squad.

Peterson can play on the left as a replacement for Dan James but he could offer us an option up front if we’re low on numbers.

A striker will obviously be our top transfer priority following McBurnie’s departure but once again, the timing is poor to say the very least as we’re just a few days away from the season opener on Saturday at home against Hull City.

In addition to Peterson’s imminent arrival, a loan signing is also expected to be confirmed this week prior to the weekend.

  • Well it’s now obvious if it wasn’t before that these money grabbing so and so’s from across the pond are only interested in bleeding the club dry. They have no interest in Swansea City except to get as much money out of the club as possible. Surely everyone can see that. It’s disgraceful.

    • Well I can’t see it? Great money for an average player ..never prem quality. Also we’ve spent millions upon millions on absolute junk under Jenkins..
Give it a rest this season and enjoy the games..moaning constantly about Americans !!!

  • It is clear that the American assassins have no ambitions for our club other than to fill their pockets and those of the other reported 27 investors. How does the FA allow people like this to buy into our national game? I feel as if I don’t want to go to watch them anymore …it really is too painful for words….and worse.. look at the money Cardiff are splashing out!

  • Sell sell sell ,get there money back then sell sell sell but to who ??? Be back to square one JACK TO A KING MY ARSE where’s all the lovies now

  • Queue the idiotic comment about money grabbing and back to near extinction.
    Pathetic.
Player was offered a higher level of football and a lot more money and greater exposure for his future and Swansea City made a tidy profit (extras may come, Hull get £2.5 – 3,000,000.
Anyone remember Jason Scotland? 20 goals a season and left us at the last minute but the team position improved.
But let’s al jump up and down and rant and stay away as a protest at being made sustainable.

    • Who says I’m going to stay away. And do you honestly say that we are going to get promotion this year? Whatever you say losing Daniel James and now Mc Burnie cannot be good for the club. And I cannot see how we are going to improve on those players.

  • Why don’t we all by cut buying football jerseys buying any drinks or food at the Liberty Stadium and show them we care about football club

  • McBurnie want good enough for us in the Prem he won’t be good enough in the Prem in future. Looked great at his own level which is what Sheffield United will find out at their cost. Borja’s looking good.
